Privacy Policy

Last updated · October 12, 2026

Your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains what information ToolFinder ("we", "our", "the site") collects, how we use it, and what choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible and to be transparent about everything we do.

Short version: ToolFinder is a static directory site. We don't ask you to sign up, we don't set tracking cookies, and we don't sell your data. The only data that ever leaves your browser is the page request itself and the optional anonymous analytics described below.

1. Information we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to operate the site:

We do not require an account to use ToolFinder, and we do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment details, or location data beyond what your browser sends automatically.

2. How we use your information

We use the limited information we collect to:

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

3. Cookies & local storage

ToolFinder itself does not set tracking cookies. Your browser may store small amounts of data in localStorage only if a future feature (such as saving favorite tools) explicitly requires it — and you will always be able to clear that data from your browser at any time.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings without affecting your ability to use the site.

4. Third-party services

To deliver the site we rely on a few trusted third parties. Each of them has its own privacy practices:

If we ever add analytics, advertising, or other third-party services, this list will be updated and the change will be flagged in the "Last updated" date.

ToolFinder is a directory. Almost every tool card links out to a third-party website that we do not own or control. Once you click an external link, you are subject to that site's privacy policy — not this one. We pick reputable tools, but we cannot be responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to.

6. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:

To exercise any of these rights, simply contact us. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Children's privacy

ToolFinder is not directed at children under 13 (or under the age defined by local law in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. International users

ToolFinder is operated from anywhere with an internet connection. By using the site, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than your own. We take reasonable steps to ensure your data is treated securely regardless of where it is processed.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect the limited data we hold — HTTPS encryption in transit, principle-of-least-access internally, and prompt patching of any reported vulnerabilities. No method of transmission over the internet, however, is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will make a reasonable effort to notify users (for example, by a banner on the home page). Continued use of ToolFinder after a change indicates that you accept the updated policy.

11. Contact us
